The final chapter. In prior posts I noted that on occasion my Traverse would have a dead battery after towing. The dealership has busted its butt for two months to find the problem. Finally they called in a factory engineer. The cause seemed to be in the on-star module. Even though the 50amp fuse is pulled in preparation for towing the on-star, which is separately fused, would not completely shut down with the key in accessory. They replaced the on-star module but to no avail. The engineer finally concluded that it was some kind of software problem. So, the solution was to rewire the power for the on-star directly from the 50 amp buss instead of its original source. Thus, pulling the 50 amp fuse killed all power to the on-star. Problem solved by improvisation. The remaining question is how many other cars (on-star modules) have the same problem; the Traverse, Enclave, Acadia, Saturn.
