Last night on the road coming home I noticed all of my dash gauge lighting turn off and come back on. It did this several times over the course of about 10 minutes. It would stay off for a minute or two and back on. It finally stayed off and no longer will come on with the head lights or intensity level adjustor. I thought gauge lights, ok, I can live with that for the trip until I looked in the camera and saw I had no trailer lights. Pulled over and checked all and the only thing working was headlights, brake lights and turn signals. Turned on my 4 ways and ran the last 90 miles to get home. Am looking in manuals now and see not fuse for this lighting. It appears that the smartwheel controller may be responsible for proceeding this control but it is unclear. I am thinking ground but it may be interesting to figure out where that point is. Any ideas from the group would be greatly appreciated as I am now restricted to driving in daylight only.

Thanks.

Regards,
Steve

Steve,

I had a similar event and it was the headlight switch. I took it out and went to O'reilly's auto parts and it was very similar to about a 70 something model Chevy truck headlight switch. I remember I had to modify it slightly but no big deal. seams like it had a extra terminal. I think it cost me about $15.
It is the variable resistor that on the switch that fried.
Good luck
