Pictures, floorplan and specs on Company's web site.....somewhat a predicter of things to come in the rest of the line....like new projection TV replacing 42 inch plasma which was reportably creating too many warrenty claims. Of course, an option on the Inspire but probably standard on Mag and Affinity. Just a guess...no inside info...but if this coach retails in the low $200/s....should be a hugh boost to CC at the lower end of the high line market. Going to York Rally....and as usual...can't wait to see the new coaches.

Pat, I had the opportunity to look over the 2004 Inspires on display at the Coming Home Rally in Eugene. They appear to be a very well thought out coach and the fit and finish also seem to be well done.
The 85" interior height is a nice feature for us tall folks or shorter people for that matter. Obviously to meet the price point of the low 200K's you will not be getting all the luxury you would get further up the food chain - more plastic vs wood for example. As with any first year product you may have more than the usual debugging to deal with. You may want to read the current issue of Motorhome magazine as the Inspire is the featured review.
Good Luck.

We have a 2004 Inspire. We would like to replace the existing plastic cabinets up front (TV area) with wood that matches the rest of our coach - similar to changes the factory made for 05 and newer years.
Also, would like to upgrade the poor performing rocker switches for interior lighting, slides, etc. used in 04. Has any other '04 Inspire owner tried to do these things? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

We did it last year to our 04. Go throug Davis Cabinets in JC. It cost us $90 with the hardware and I installed it. Easy job just a little modification depending on the type of hinges used.

Having custom wood cabinets made to replace the plastic cabinets might be very expensive. Perhaps a reasonable compromise would be to replace the plastic doors with wooden ones. Also, it is annoying enough when people bump their heads on the corner of the TV.
Probably would be worse if it were surrounded by wood instead of plastic. If you are going to do this, probably should consider replacing the tube TV with a flat one to get that 'head bumper' out of the way.
Have you checked with the factory to see if you can buy a set of 05 cabinets which would fit?
Allegedly, CC maintains an inventory of the materials used in the interior, so if you did do wood, you should be able to match it closely.
What is 'poor performing' about the switches aside from their height off the ground? The only problem I have with them is hitting them with my butt when I don't mean to. The switches are actually 2 parts. There is the actual switch, which is small (maybe 1.5" tall by 3/4" wide), and then the huge plastic cover which actuates the switch. I'd look into changing that cover first, as replacing the switches themselves would be tedious.

I have begun a search for a previously owned motorhome and looked at a 2004
Country Coach Inspire today. The coach has a 350 ISC Cummins, onan generator, 3 slides, awnings all around, Xantrex 2000 watt inverter.
We
found when driving the coach there is a vibration at about 65 mph.
The
vibration goes away going faster or slower. It feels like the tires may not
be balanced. Tires are Toyo and are original. Mileage on the coach is a
little over 12,000, which means this coach has done quite a bit of sitting
around. There are a few electrical problems: Oasis door awning will not
employ, Fantastic Fan inoperable with the lid open, buttons/switches next
to driver do not work, like the pedal adjustment, visors. The front air
conditioner (Coleman) is blowing warm air. The brakes seem good but squeak
very loudly. Fridge is a Norcold 4-door which we turned on but not in time
to see if it cools properly. Asking price is a little over $167,000. In
checking the online NADA guide this rig's average retail is in the $154,000
range.
What issues with the coach, engine, electrical should I be concerned about.
Of course dealer says they will fix everything (where have I heard that
before?). I guess what really concerns me the most is the elctrical part
especially the driver's side switches.
Thanks for any advice,

Judy,
I have a 04 Inspire that I bought used with 9,000 miles in 2-06 for a litte less that they are asking for this coach. Some of the early 04's have a Holland IFS recall that you need to check on. You need to check the build date on those Toyo tires. My coach rolled out of the factory on 3-4-04 with Toyos that were built in 2-02. That other stuff sounds like things that just got let go and needs checking out. My door awning was the same way and was nothing but a set collar binding on the motor shaft. If you can turn it with the hand crank it's probably OK . I replaced some of those plastic rocker switches. CC sent me a box full of them. John is right, just the rockers not the switches. It's a real good driving coach, as easy as my new Toyota pickup. My wife drives it as good as I do.

RUN AND RUN FAST. IF THE DEALER WAS REALLY INTERESTED IN SELLING THIS COACH, THEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY FIXED THE PROBLEMS AND THEY WOULD BE ASKING A REASONABLE PRICE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS COACH HAS BEEN NEGLECTED AND PROBABLY NEVER HAD THE BUGS WORKED OUT OF IT.

We have a 2005 Inspire with more than double the mileage of the one you are looking at and NONE of the problems you found. With almost 30,000 miles and about 1 years of actual living the coach we have no current significant issues.
I would be suspect of a dealer that would put a coach with that many problems on the for sale lot as it makes me wonder about their real attitude towards customer satisfaction.
We had our tires trued and balanced - what a difference!

Walt,
Your '03 Allure looks like a very nice coach, but looking at the list of features accompanying the photo, I see nothing that represents "a lot more coach" than an '04 Inspire, which has most, if not all, of the features you list.
In your opinion, what would we be getting for our money if we traded our '05 Inspire for an '05 Allure, assuming we could get a good deal?
Thanks.

I'm not familiar with either of the coaches you mention. I was simply referring to the fact the 03 Allure is a more substantial coach than the 04 Inspires I've seen. The 03 Allure was rather unique as it is practically identical to the 03 Intrigue, and is built on a very substantial chassis. I didn't mean to demean yours or anyone else's coach, but was expressing my personal opinion as to comparability.

I have a 2004 Inspire Sienna #51071 and I bought it used in 2005 but did not get the file box. Kevin Waite has helped me collect all most of the manuals. I do not know where they put the wrench for the slides or the air compressor. I have the manual for the slides but not the air compressor. If any one with a 2004 Inspire Sienna can tell me I would appreciate it. By the way the air compressor is not under the drivers seat.

Hi Ilene
I also have a 2004 Inspire and as far as I know a slide wrench was never furnished, It takes a 19mm socket and ratchet to move the slides manually .also the air compressor is engine mounted with air taps infront of the drivers wheel. These air taps are primarily used for emergency towing of the coach and also can be used to air up tires.I have the complete file so let me know which manuals you need

I'm looking at buying a 2004 Inspire coach and I need any and all feedback on this model. Is it a good model and what should I look for? Any issues I should be aware of?

Be sure to drive the unit being looked-at until you have a real feel for it's handling, Robert ~ we purchased an early unit in Pomona CA at a Rally soon after introduction and spent a year trying to improve the handling to no avail ~ checking front tire wear, talking to the current owner about handling is highly recommended; otherwise a very nice and comfortable unit outside of that one concern. Two years ago we saw our former unit and asked the owners @ that time about it's handling and they were 2nd owners after us, and were headed to Eugene to have more work done to improve handling. BUYER BEWARE!

You'll love that coach. I have a 2004 that I bought in Feb last year and its wonderful. There was a problem with one of the brackets that holds the air ride shocks in place. The weld broke loose and had to have it re-welded. You should check all the brackets just to make sure they are not cracked.

I have a late 04' Inspire (DaVinci) so I have all wood above the driver with the 05' upgrades and the Cummins engine. I bought it new in 2004 and have had no issues. There have been recalls so check those out. If you have any specific questions send me an email.

I also have an 04 Inspire and have had none of the problems that others have had with the Inspire, I have no PTO and a steel radiator my Inspire is a low number, so it may have a mixture of other production line coach parts on it, The coach performs flawlessly and I love it..

I would look for the fibreglass checking. We spent a winter in Southern AZ last year and the drivers side of the coach has checked in all the dark paint areas. That was the side that recieved the hot afternoon sun. There was a fibrglass problem for several years. Not sure if yours was affected. I also have had all my windows repaired due to broken seals, icemaker supply line replaced. The old line was brittle due to age and cracked. Replaced all my faucet and showere diverter just cause I wanted to. I also have had to replace my onboard computer twice, but CAT can't seem to figure out why.
