Hello Group:
I have been "Honda Girl" for 35 years driving just about every model they made since 1976. Luckily, in later years CRVs and my most recent 8-year-old Element have been towables. I need a new tow and I would get a new Element in a heartbeat because it is a wonderful on-the-road garage for two bikes, two accordions and one dog crate.
But, Honda has dropped the Element model for 2012. Now, I am considering the 2011 CRV or the Chevy Equinox, both towables. If I knew that my Element tow plate would transfer to the 2011 CRV it would tip my choice. How do I find out? The sales staff doesn't know and doesn't seem to know how to find out. Your advice?

Shirley,
Contact the manufacturer of the tow bar, they will know for sure.

George is right.
You can go to the web site of the tow bar maker.
Look up the base plate you have and look at what it will fit.

Shirley,
If you get the Honda CRV I have a Roadmaster base plate I used for only one trip. Came off a 2010 CRV. I changed over to a Blue OX base plate because my tow bar is Blue OX and requires an adapter to hook up to a Raodmaster base plate. Too many connections in my opinion. PM me if you are interested.
