As I posted before the CAT dealer and my repair shop couldn't figure out my sporadic overheating issue. Well today i took it for a drive and it started to overheat (215+). I pulled over ran to the back and found the fan was not on high. It appeared to be on low. I disconected the fan controller and the fan went to high and the engine cooled down. So am I assuming right that the issue is the fan controller? I am getting very frustrated with this and want it fixed.

John, you might first want to pull both the 2 wire power plug and 6 wire controller plug and make sure all wire are snug in their prongs and clean things up. As its sporadic it could be a connection issue, if not, your right its the Fan Controller.

My overheating was also sporadic until it finally went full time. Until then shutting the engine down would almost always fix the problem until the next time. A new fan controller did fix the issue.

Had the same problem and a controller fixed the problem. Drove over 500 extra miles to get it fixed at Colton truck in Ca. since they seem to be able to handle this problem.

I took my coach to Colton Truck Terminal Garage Thursday to work on my overheating issue. They replaced the fan controller and found that the aluminum radiator was seeping. They fixed that and give me the good news on the cost of replacement...ouch! They also checked the pto which was fine so the greased it and recommended a pto lube kit in the future. They run a first class shop and I highly recommend them..
We made it home with no overheating!
