We are buying an 08 Affinity that does not have a washer and dryer. We understand that the wiring and plumbing are in place for both. Any recomendations as to what brand to have installed? Any comments on stacked units you all are using today, as to how well they opperate, clean, amount that can be washed at one time (load size)? Is it possible to use residential units (220 volt dryer)?
Thanks in advance!

Recommend going with the stack washer/dryer- did not enjoy the use of our combo W/D. Most dryer are 110V in RV. Not as efficient as 220V but we are usually in a park so its not a big deal.

You should sign your name ! I own an 09 Magna with the factory supplied residential style stacked washer/dryer. Look at the electrical panel and you should see if it is prewired as the breaker would be there. If it is a double pole breaker , then it is 220 . A single breaker would be 115. I can't imagine t not being 220 on this high end coach. Having had the single combo W/D, I would forego having the unit installed. The loads are very small and since it is designed as a combo unit , it doesn't work very well in either mode, and it takes forever. I suggest the park laundromat. As to models , I would spend according to your budget, anything that fits the space. Obviously the more you spend the more cycles and features the residential units have.

We just had the washer/dryer removed from our CC. No matter how poorly the washer washed, the dryer couldn't get the tiny load to dry in any reasonable amount of time. And the load size is extremely restricted for both functions. We also found this to be a waste of both water and electricity. We were not happy campers.
We value the storage space achieved by having built-in drawers replace the less-than-splendid Splendide. NOW, we are happy campers.
Your mileage may vary.
