Title: Passanger Seat Swivel Control

My 2005 Allure passanger-side chair has two electric seat controls for the chair and the leg extension, and two manual lever type controls for the backrest adjustment and the chair swivel. The swivel control has broken in half.
There is no branding on these chairs so I don't know who supplied them, but the manufacturer is probably common to all models of this vintage. Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts?

Call parts at CCI and tell them what you need, Maybe they can help. I just contacted them about my Turbo to muffler pipe I'm in need of. They sent a dwg to make sure it was the right one. It wasn't it so they sent another dwg and it was it. They said they would get me price and avialability as they had them custom made. Very helpful so far. Just waiting to hear the price.

Stu,

Our bus also has the crappy Villa Seats ( http://www.villainternational.com/ (http://www.villainternational.com/)). The plastic paddles that control the cables aren't designed properly and thus break easily. I think Flex Steel makes a better product but their seats weren't used. There are more problems with these seats than the swivel adjustment. If the seat springs fatigue they can get caught in the linear actuator the extends the foot rest. Also the wires aren't dressed well and can short out. I've had all these problems. On my bus if the passenger seat isn't tipped back enough retracting the foot rest can jam it into the floor thus overloading the mechanism. You can also jam it after it's fully retracted making extension of same hard on the mechanism. Some things to look into and be careful of if your seating is like mine. I wound up removing my passenger seat and making corrections and redressing wires. My swivels are still hanging on by one small plastic thread. On wiring, the factory was too cheap to put enough tie wraps in there. I think tie wraps are 3-5 cents each in quantity. As for the swivels, replacing parts doesn't really fix anything it just buys time until the next failure. Good luck and please let us know what you do to correct the problems.

So it's likely a Villa with a questionable reputation. No wonder they don't put their name on them. This is not my first problem with these seats Scott, and wiring was previously an issue also. Over on the driver's seat, the back support outer surface is delaminated from the foam cushion and there is a soft whoosh of air each time I get into the seat and sit back. Arms rests leave a lot to be desired as well. Flex-Steel would have been a far better choice, but then we have to watch our costs!
Kevin, don't know why I didn't think of triple C. Thanks for the number, I'll call them tomorrow and see if they can help.

Stu,

It's sad when a company can't put their name of a product. I found out about Villa in somewhat a unique way. We were in the Flex Steel plant in Indiana and was speaking to the product development manager. The company was very nice and spent time with us. The PDM told us the seats in our bus were Villa which turned out to be spot on. Villa is the low cost seat provider. I was thinking about replacing them with Flex Steel and may do so if they become more troublesome. At this time they work albeit with TLC. I didn't mention I also had problems with the swivel bolt which I fixed. The cotter pin was broken off on the passenger side seat and thus allowed the bolt to misadjust. An easy fix but so unnecessary. Had they put in a true cotter pin this never would have happened. Talk about pinching pennies!
If the seat wiring shorts out (and mine did) it flips a heat breaker in your inside DC breaker box. The breaker cycles on and off but gets hot as hell in the process. It doesn't inspire confidence and makes one wonder about a fire. Please do be careful, inspect and re-mediate as required to avoid any serious problems. As for the air whoosh I can't explain that one. Our seats are leather upholstery over padding over springs. They are comfortable enough. Good luck

Scott

We have friends who have Flex Steel seats in their 2005 Monaco Dynasty and hate them. They have had them repaired several times. So maybe it is what day of the week they are made.

Scott,

All else aside, Villa seats and furniture cost way more than Flexsteel.

Try contacting Countryside Interiors in Junction City (1-800-324-6287). They are pretty knowledgable about CC's and may be able to help.

I have a call in to the Country Coach parts department Luther. Did not get a call back on Friday so will follow up Monday. Hoping they can identify the brand of seat I have by my coach number so I can be sure to order the right part.
Thanks Bob, Countryside Interiors is another possibility I will keep in mind.

I thought I put closure on this thread regarding the swivel control for the passanger side seat in my '05 Allure. First, I found out the seat was made by Kustom Fit, which was bought out by Villa a while back but still markets under the name Kustom Fit.
I did contact Country Coach parts department and they confirmed the part was available and the cost was $50 plus shipping. I was put off by the price for a simple control latch so I called Kuston Fit in California and was quoted $25 for the same part. I can't help think that CCC would get a nice discount off the retail price so their markup looks nothing short of outragious, at least to me. I ordered and received the swivel control from Kustom Fit two days later and was also pleased to note that they only charged me $5.05 for shipping.

Summary, a high five to Kuston Fit, CCC - buyer beware IMO.

Having worked for Cat Most of my Life I Know price mark up. I did a 33 percent on non Cat parts at my shop buy price, less then what you pay and this is Fair. I remember I bought a 12 vdc solonoid for 12 dollars my price a added 33 percent. I went to NAPA week later and they sold on to me for 50 dollars and I said I wont buy it and mark it up for a enduser! I think as a group we should approach CC and say enough on price mark up's!!! I worked at Disney and let me tell you if CoCola says we have to sell you a bottle of Coke for 2 dollars they say a dollar or we go to Pepsi guess what its a dollar! They ought to be Ashamed of them selve's. When I billed my enduser's for work I was honest and Fair or I could sleep at night. I also had endusers for over 20 years! We as a group have this control! My friends use to say if I dont make them happy Hello Cummins!!! My 2 cents. I have a sister near CC Oregon in Harrisburg and next year I will visit them and give them a piece of my mind!
