I've got a dumb question.

The light in our refrigerator wont go off. (I've pulled the bulb). Any idea on how the remove the switch. It's a Dometic Elite. It seems there's a pin that should be going in and out to make contact. It seems to be stuck in the out/on position. I've turned the book inside out but there's no mention of the light switch.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, there is a switch for low ambient temperature and if in the on position, it keeps the interior light on.

I have a really, really dumb question. If the door is closed tight how would you know the light is still on ?

Just a thought ......

Two thoughts. As soon as you open the fridge door, feel the light and if it's warm, it was already on before you opened the door. Or, put your camera in there on automatic, flash off and let it take a picture. Of course if you have a black picture, the fridge light was off.

I will follow up with another perhaps dumb question. When you manually move the light switch lever, should that not turn the light on and off??? My problem is that the light will not go off when the switch lever is moved back and forth. I checked the climate control switch and it will turn the light on and off, but the switch lever will not work when the climate control is off. The light is either on when the climate control switch is on or will not come on when the switch is off.

I am assuming my switch lever for the light is broken?

Am I missing something?

I found that our switch would not turn off the light and replaced it; no fix. Found out that there are at least two types of switches (one w/ long arm, the other short) and tried the other type; no fix. I don't believe that it ever worked correctly and can not get a door activated switch to work on ours, thus no refer light (removed bulb).
