We are looking to purchase a 1998 Magna Fanfare that has the Detroit 8.7L 330 HP 960 Ft lb, and 360 World Allison Transmission. After much research we find that the Detroit is actually an I530 International. Our concern is parts availability and maintenance. Has anyone out there had any experience with this engine. Any comments advice would be appreciated! Mike and Harriet

I have this engine/transmission set up in my 98 Magna. Service has not been a problem, motor has been very reliable. This engine is still being produced and has been in service in many industrial applications and in some firetrucks.

Thanks for that. After more research I've become more comfortable with this engine. Your comments helped with that thanks. Found an International Service Facility in Sarasota, Fl that says they work on those engines for the farmers in area, and also those in coaches. Tanks for your help!!
