New to forum. Looking at purchasing CC 1998 Infinity w/ 425 cat. Can some provide me with an estimate on fuel mileage. I tow a Jeep, so driving 55-60.
Thanks for the input. We will be looking at the coach this coming Friday.

Kelly...

My '99 Magna with 385hp Cat C10 gets 8.3mpg... I tow a Hyundai Santa Fe that weighs 3900lb...
I set the cruise control at 1300 RPM/58MPH (just above max torque), use "Econo mode" only in hilly terrain, use Jake break only when in heavy or city traffic...
There are owner polls on various engines and mileage on the CATRVCLUB forum, which is also on Yahoo...

I wonder if there is a way to tune an engine for best performance. We had to have our turbo repaired, but once we did, our mileage improved. We get between 9.8 and 10.3 MPG in our 2000 Magna with Cat C10. (Although Country Coach specified our coach with a 385 hp Cat engine, when we check with Cat engine people, they tell us our engine is set for 350 hp. But we also have a Pittsburgh Power module on our engine, and we seem to be able to get up to 1500 ft-lb torque when climbing hills.... I just keep an eye on the inlet air temp whenever I use the Pittsburgh Power unit at one of its higher settings.)
We get the 9.8 MPG when we are towing an enclosed car-carrier trailer that weighs around 7000 lb loaded. We get the 10.3 MPG when we tow our Ford escape.

Thanks

My C10 is "stock"... have never felt a need for more power... the 'ol magna climbs the hills in fine style as is...

Skip, where would I look to see if our unit has this installed? Our build number is 5790 with Cat C10 and the build sheet shows a digital power package at around an $800 option.
Did CC order these engines with this installed or did a owner before you add this?

Thanks,
Steve
