Recently the bus company that does my service and repair work back here in the east of PA called Country Coach Corporation (CCC) for some help to determine parts availability on our 1998 Prevost CC Conversion. What they encountered was difficulty in talking to a department that was willing to help them and then a 2 day delay in response from parts returning their phone calls and then were told basically to "find the parts on your own." What they were looking to locate was what model thermal-expansion (TX) valve was used in the 2 over-the-road (OTR) A/C systems installed by CCC. My shop was hoping to find the manufacturer of the evap-blowers and or parts list but to no avail from CCC. Fortunately they were able to remove the unit and with help from another local A/C shop, they determined what brand and model these TX valves were. They felt CCC was not really there trying to help them nor supply them parts. Of course there are always 3 sides to a 2 sided discussion. The person at my garage got the feeling that CCC was overwhelmed with requests and this was the quickest way to end the conversation by telling them to find them on your own.
Now prior to my taking the bus to the shop for repairs to the OTR A/C system, I knew the compressor was not working so I started research myself by calling Oregon Motorcoach Center and received not only a return phone call, within 24 hours, I got emailed a parts and wiring diagram and photos of what we thought "might" be the culprit that caused the A/C compressor problem. Alas once we took the bus to the repairs shop what we "thought" might be the problem was not the culprit but what had happened was when the compressor failed, it dumped lots of metal shavings into the refrigerant system therefore causing the need to not only flush the system but to replace the TX valves as they ended up being clogged with metal particles.
Does this mean that CCC is not willing to help. I don't think so, but they sure were no help in this instance.

Bill,
Thanks for the update. Service reports from real customers trying to solve problems are important to know about. I'm glad OMC reached out their helping hand to you. I encourage everyone to feed data back into the group. Everyone's experience(s) count.
