We are looking to trade in our 2004 HR Imperial for a 2007 Rhapsody 900 and trying to get some information on the coach. What's the good, the bad and the ugly? I tried to do a search, but not a lot of useful information came up.

Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping someone will respond. We've been looking at a 2008 Rhapsody that's really amazing...other than not having a king sized bed (!). We're hoping someone with any knowledge/experience with them chimes in!

I was impressed with it also when I first saw it at the 2007 CC rally in Oregon. As far as I know only a few were built and those had a lot of issues. The tag is steerable and one of the coaches spent months at Lazydays while CC and Lazydays mechanics tried to work out the issues. This was CC's attempt to compete with Newell. If I remember one of the coaches tore up the rear tag suspension on the way to a CC show. Be careful.

John,

Not many out there. They were introduced around the time CC was going under.
If you are looking at one in a particular price range, then compare it to a Newell and see what's available. Newell will be around in five years and so will their support.
I would not take a chance on this coach model unless you have your own shop and do your own work.

Kevin,

Yes, that's what has prompted my search. It is a beautiful coach, but I just don't know enough about them. I found one that was sold be the Motorcoach Specialists out of Texas a few months ago, but outside that vitally no info.
The one thing I did learn is more general through a search of the messages. You folks don't seem to be shy about using your coaches during the winter in northern climates, which is a big plus for us. it was very easy to find information. A similar search on the Monaco/Holiday Rambler boards is not as fruitful and usually is just filled with recommendations not to do it and just head south for the winter.

The first one built blew the tranny on the way to the east coast reunion.

Yup, read that while I searched this board for I information. Since there were only a couple built, who knows who has that one. There were two recalls over the years and this coach had both done. It has just shy of 50k miles, so it doesn't sound like it was in the shop a lot. It was also owned by a lawyer that traded it in for a boat and if there were a lot of problems with it, I would imagine his law degree would have come in handy with a factory trade for a different coach. Or maybe I'm just rationalizing

I know know a guy that owns one of these his name is Terry and works for some Nascar driver. I will get his information and give him call so he can give you guys the run down on his coach.

I thought I'd give an update since I inquired about this model. I did lots of research and many phone calls to folks familiar with this model and this coach in particular. So, in the end negotiated a deal knowing pretty well what I was getting into.
So far she has not been the nightmare she was made out to be. Is she perfect, oh my gosh no, each day seems like a new learning experience with something else to work on, but with TLC and patience she's turning out to be a very nice coach that certainly turns heads.
I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions, knowing that I may be the only owner of these rare coaches on this board. Would love to talk to other owners and hopefully I'll run across the few out there.
