Hello,
I have had a problem with our Hydro-Hot for quite a while. If it is left off for more that a couple of days, it will not light when turned on. The light by the switch, in the bedroom, turns green then after about 30 seconds it goes out. I wait about 10 minutes then try again. It will usually start after the third or fourth try. I can smell raw diesel when it does not light and when it does there is gobs of smoke which clears up in a couple of minutes. Once it fires off, it works great until we leave it off for a few days.
In May we at Oregon Motor Coach for some other work and told them about the problem. They serviced the unit and (cf course) it worked until we left the next day.
So... we would greatly appreciate any advice or ideas if anyone has any expereince with this.
Thanks!

Try contacting Roger Berke @ roger.berke@... (roger.berke@...) or 916-214-6518. Our Hydro Hot did not work properly (Cold Showers) from the date of purchase and we spent thousands of dollars @ several places with no results. Roger came out to us and for the first time since purchase in August of 2003 we have a perfectly running system. He lives full time in his RV and travels so when you contact him, he'll let you know if your paths cross. He does spend most of his time in California, Arizona, Nevada.
He also sends pictures or drawings with instructions for you to check & try to repair yourself.

Try Roger Berke at the yahoo group - Hydro hot forums; he solved my issues with two emails: http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/register.php (http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/register.php)

Thanks guys for your help! I really appreciate the leads. Also, I got a call from Oregon Motor Coach. Good folks, and Vern there had some advice. I called Aqua-Hot and they said that it is most likely either the coil, electrodes or flame sensor. He also indicated that he had seen some CC's where the fuel line was routed under the water tank and the heater would not light when the tank was full. But that is not the problem here.
I'm going to see what is involved is taking it apart tomorrow. They don't have a recommended repair facility or person here in Wyoming, so hopefully it won't be too complicated.
Thanks again,
Rich Sherman
