Thank you all for the responses I received on my earlier post. As I suspected the out come of my transaction appears not to be what others have experienced.
I did in fact purcahse a CC in late 2008, took delivery in NV. Followed the BOE presciption to qualify for the tax exemption. Submitted my documentation upon request (which occurred earlie this year, and the exemption was subsequently approved.
The letter of approval from CA BOE while approving the exemption indicated that they would be alerting NV BOE to the transaction.
Last week I received a Delinquency Notice for Use Tax from NV BOE pertaining to this transaction.
I presume that either the demand is based on faulty assumptions, or the entire program has been a catch 22, but only recently enforced?
I will be contacting a sales tax attorney for advice, both CA & NV, attornies. Does any member of this board have experience with an attorney with this specialty? If so any referrals?

As this situation resolves I will post an update.
I have no desire to evade paying tax, however if legitimately the transaction can be exempted by taking advantage of the program that is/was in place at the time, I would like to do so.
