Fellow Country Coachers:
I am about to tell you a classic Country Coach Story.
Do you remember the Country Coach rally at the Albany Fair Grounds where the Veranda made it's debut? During the social hour we all stood around after touring it and tried to figure out who this machine was designed for and more importantly, who might want to buy it and for what purpose. Finally, the mystery is solved.
Yesterday, a Veranda drove into Pacific Shores Outdoor Resorts at Newport Oregon. Those of you who have been to Pacific Shores know the paved path on the ocean side of the park that leads down to the sand? Well, the Veranda's site was the pad just left of the path so that the actual veranda (lower case "v") shot out to the ocean with an incredible view. One would think "This is exactly what the designers had in mind when they drew up the plans for this RV".
Alas, not so! What was inside was the real rationale for the design. The owner's female Great Dane had given birth to 13 puppies just an hour before. Driving here was nip and tuck with the Danish stork and the Veranda didn't quite make it but all is well with mama and babies thanks to internet connection with vets.
Owner's comment: "I didn't buy this Veranda Allure for $299,999 to make it an puppy nursery. Oh well, I can always clean it up, I guess!"
Just consider what it will be like to see 13 little Great Dane puppies on that veranda. Or, perhaps the veranda could become a giant puppy-pad? There are so many great ideas for that veranda with this new family.
if you think this is a whimsical figment of my imagination, just visit Pacific Shores Outdoor Resorts lot 141.
Cheers for finally solving the mystery of the Veranda.

This had to be ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff & RUFF for you to see...
Sorry, I had to do this - therapy from watching our DC in inaction:)!
I did talk to a gent who's uncle bought a Veranda at 'move it off the lot' prices. He has adopted a young man that requires a motorized wheel chair - and they are not touring the country to show him as many sights as possible. For them, this brought this young man just a bit closer to nature...
Best to all,
Smitty
