We are currently in southeastern Iowa and plan to drive to Sioux Falls, SD on Wednesday. Can anyone comment on the condition of I-90 across Minnesota and I-29 from Council Bluffs, IA to Sioux Falls, SD?

I-90 across Minnesota is surprisingly good with some areas of construction. We just came westbound on I-90 all the way from New York state last week. The Minnesota and Wisconsin parts are much better than east of there. don't know anything about I-19

I live in Sioux City and can tell you that I29 is open from Sioux City to I680 east. So coming from eastern Iowa you will have no problem going west on I80 and then onto I680 to connect to I29 north to Sioux City and then on to Sioux Falls. You can also just go I35 north out of Des Moines to I90 west to Sioux Falls. I'd recommend the I29 route as mileage is shorter and you get a once in a lifetime view of the Missouri River Flood. You will encounter some one lane and reduced speeds but nothing traffic stopping.

Steve
