I'm looking for some suggestions from some of the greater minds on this forum. Has anyone had any experience finding the diagnostic plug from the engine/transmission. I have a 350 cummings/allison combination in a 99 Intrigue.
I'm installing a silverleaf VMS 200EL. Unfortunately Country Coach didn't make a plug that would accomodate the Silverleaf until 2000 or 2001. No problem, I just find the diagnostic plug and tap the data + and Data- wires and hook up to the 12v power and it works!!
No so easy. I can't find a plug under the dash. I have been in there extensively installing a GPS and changing my monitor and CD player, etc. I'm fairly familiar with CC wiring diagrams and they do a great job of identifying all of their own wiring. The diagnostic plug i'm looking for is proprietory to Allison or Cummings. I believe it should be routed up through the shift console where the selector pad and light switches are mounted. From there, it is supposed to go up under the corner and drop down under the dash.
I have talked to CC several times to no avail. Their tech's are at a rally until next Thursday and my wiring diagrams do not match my coach.
There advise is: "It's gotta be there somewhere!". I have had that huge wiring harness out from under the console, thinking that they may have failed to route it up and into the dash board area.
Anyone want to venture a guess? I know what is supposed to look like, according the the VMS installation manual. Just can't find it.

I installed the VMSpc in my 2000 Allure and also found that there was no standard round 6-pin connector. What I did find was the rectangluar 12 -pin connector underthe dash just to the left of steering column. I found the data in and out wires and tapped the VMSpc interface into them. The Allison connector is tied into the Cummins system, so you get data for engine and tranny. The only other connectors are located in the RH aft service bay with the fuel filters.

If your monitor is in now this is academic. I have installed the Cummins Road Relay system and am very satisfied. I just had the software up graded at Hamburg FMCA rally. Let me know how you did.

After several hours of searching, I located it behind the front driver forward panel, the one with the cab heater outlet. It was coiled up with other wiring. I wired the VMS and it worked! Thanks!
