The shear pin on my bedroom Power Gear slide sheared off. The mechanism is under the bed and there is reasonable access. Has anyone replaced the pin, how difficult is it and can you outline the steps? Can you get the pin from a source other than Power Gear? I am currently in Wisconsin on my way to the FMCA Convention in Madison.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Kevin,
Thank you. I will call you this morning.
1) Do you have suggestions or guidelines for installing these pins?
2) Do these pins also fit the front slides?

The Shear Bolts are available at any Ace Hardware or Tacoma Screw Products and other Hardware stores. Grade 8 and make sure the shoulder fits through the complete square tube as the threaded portion is not as strong. If a bolt is too long to clear the adjacent components you can thread a nut on and then hack saw off the extra length and then screw the nut back off to correct the threads then install with a washer on both sides.

Greetings all,
A great benefit of this group is the spark of ideas that arrive from a posting, Just for grins and giggles I went out to check my slide room drive tube bolts and discovered a twisted outer tube and a cracked inner tube on the drivers side slide that I would not have known until it failed . So I wish to thank who ever started this thread . I appreciate this group and the information it produces. PRICELESS,a fix is in the works.

Be sure you align the gears on the slide according to the power gear manual. You can download the manual from their web site. If you don't chances are the bolt will shear again.

Hello,
I get my bolts from Home Depot, but it also sounds like you in/out limit bolts need to be set as well.
