Hi All,

Hope all is going well with you. Our fresh warer storage tank is not showing any water intake. We have added clorine to sanitize, The Sea Level indicates "0", but the water is going somewhere. So we thought that the Sea Level was in error. This am we were goint to drain. To check the water level again "0", we turned on the pump. No water. We need help. Where is the water going? I am going out for awhile so I will not be able to answer questions immediately. Thanks for any input to our problem.

Is your pump working? I cannot answer for sure, but if water is actually going in (you need to be sure it is and you don't have a clogged screen or filter) it to be either going into the tank or somewhere else and eventually on to the ground.

I know this is probably not the case but just in case, make sure your hose is hooked up the the water tank fill spigot and not one of the grey or black water holding tank flush nozzles. You would be filling the holding tanks and not the water tank. Could be the case. I have almost done that before becuase my mind was not on what I was doing.
There may also be a valve the needs to be going the right direction in order for the water intake to fill the water tank versus goign direct to pressurize your water system.
On my coach I have two ways to fill the water tank, either by hooking it up the the water spigot (and switching the valve below to fill the tank) or the putting the hose in the filler cap next to it.
If you do not have that bypass valve in teh right direction then the water pump just cycles the water and may throw it out the inlet spigot..(done that)

Thanks Rich and Dallas for your input. The pump did not pump water when we were checking to see if there was water in the holding tank, and now the pump will not turn on. It appears that the water is going into the tank as I hear the water, but the Sea Level still indicates "0". We are still working on the problem and will check the suggestions. Thanks again for the info. Marianne

One other issue I ran across with a non working pump was that the blade connectors that run electricituy to the pump were very bad, expecially the ground wire connector.... it broke apart when I was tracing the wires with my hand. I put new blad connectors on the green and red wires that provice electricity to the pump (off the pig tail comming from the pump and that fixed my non working pump. Check both of the connectors to make sure they are good.
Also check the switch in the plumbing bay that turns the pump on. I found mine to be stuck so I disconnected it and sprayed WD40 in it and that freed it up to work. It was jamming and not turning the pump on or off.
Turns out I had to simultaneous electrical problems that made trouble shooting it a bit more difficult.

Hi Mikee,

You are so generous. I wish I were in Maryland just to meet you! We are in Birmingam with no RV service. Our plans are to head back to California, in the next few days(?). Hope we resolve our storage tank issue before we start to head back. The water pump was change within the last 9 mo to a year ago. We may have run it dry when I was checking to see if the water would flush the toilet. The pump was still runnig when I turned it off. We will check the wires, Dallas. Thanks again for your help.

Hi John, You forgot us. Our coach is an 05 Allure. Remember, we both had a rug problem. My mom was with us at Club CC. Any way if you can give us any help, it would be greatly appreciated! Chuck B. emails me some great thing. Marianne

Marianne:

Yes I remember, now.

Does your coach have the Intellitec System? I am also assuming that when you turn on the water pump switch that it does not light. If that is the case, there is a removable panel panel in the P/S BR cupboard.. Just above that panel there is a small black panel with 3 switches; 2 control lights and the other the water pump. Flip the water pump switch and the light should illuminate the water pump switches in the coach, if so turn a faucet on and see if you get water. If you do, then the water pump fuse is blown, I believe it's 10 amps. The fix is to remove the removable panel and replace the blown water pump fuse, pretty easy to find and replace, replace panel, return the water pump switch on the black panel to the original position. You should have water when you turn on a water pump switch in the coach.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, John,

I don't think we have the Intelli System. But the red light for the pump went on. We will be checking the pump to see if it works when we fill the tank and the in take filter to the pump. Thanks again for your help! Marianne

Well we are now atttacking the problem. The inlet screen is now clean. The light is on in the coach to indicate the pump is on. Question is how does the pump work? There is a rubber diaphram. How does the diaphram work? The motor works but the pump does not. Thanks again for any input.

Be sure water is getting to the pump. The strainer may be blocked. Remove the outlet line, start the pump and see if it pumps then. The pump may be air locked.
