New happy owner, been reading forum for weeks. Bought a 2002 Allure 36'. Drove home 550 miles with no big issues. Parked at home , did the usual, cleaned and started loading the "stuff". Problem. When to start today and had high oil pressure. 100psi indicated. Just move 6ft. and shutdown. When I went back to move to original spot. same issue. Did not have time prior to work to do any checking. Any help appreciated.

Kelly, If you coach has a SilverLeaf push the Diagnose Button to check for a Fault Code. Could be the following: Oil Pressure Switch, or your Oil Pressure Sensor. Possible bad Oil or Oil Filter. Also check Coolant Level.

My Inspire with a CAT C9 does the same thimg and has since new. Just leave it running and it will come down to 45-50 psi within 5 minutes or so and on down to 'normal' within 30 minutes or so - mine only does it on a 'cold' start-up (after sitting for 10-12 hours). I have never noticed any oil leakage or problems because of the 'high' start-up oil pressure. Since it did it from day one I figured it was normal with 'cold' oil.

Friend what Brand Engine do you have? Im a retired Diesel Tech working my other life for Cat! I have worked on to many diesels to remember! I never heard of real high oil pressure! I would put on a Mach. Pressure Ga. to verify oil pressuer. The next post sounds like your Silverleaf may be the Problem if indeed this what you have? Make sure your oil is Black not Gray? Coolant in Oil etc. This group will walk you through if you have a silver leaf issues. If it were me Have the oil press checked at a good repair shop. Then run this by Silverleaf? On my coach, 100 psi is fairly normal oil pressure for the first start of the day, depending on how cold it was overnight. However, along with the high oil pressure I also get an engine light which will stay on for a short period, until the ecm decides you're good to go. If you don't see an engine light at start up, I would check to see that the light is working.

I have a 2000 Allure (no SilverLeaf) and my oil pressure is between 75-100 psi until the coach is warmed up. Once my temps reach 150+ degrees, the oil pressure comes down to around 50 psi on the highway (62mph @ approx 1500rpm).
