Yesterday our slide, which has been working like a charm since new in 1998, decided it was time to quit.
We were opening the slide and it moved only 4 inches and stopped. It will now not move back in. When we push on the switch we hear someting like a solenoid click but no motor running. The solenoid type noise is coming from the bay under the drivers seat.
Any knowledge of what to look for first?
Tomorrow we will use the emergency winch to pull it back in but obviously we want to fix the slide and we are hoping it is something simple.

We've just had a bedroom slide failure. In the end we called HWH and they talked us through the retraction. They bent over backwards to help us. (I'm assuming it's a HWH unit).
Give em a call. It'll save a lot of guessing and heartache.

Joey, make sure you have fuild in your reservoir, then pull the switch out that you push to open & close, these switches go bad. It should have three (3) contacts, one power to motor, one is telling to open one is telling to close. Determine if switch is working properly, if not call HWH for a new one.

Our BR slide occasionally does that and it's because the hyd pump doesn't activate. A work around is to hit the switch on the LR slide to get the pump going, while someone is in the back holding the BR slide switch. Of course this won't work if you have only one slide.

We received an email in response to our original message from Dave Rousey Jr./ Owner, Former CC Technian, of Styleworks RV Repair offering his phone number so that we could call to discuss.
Dave was a real help. He gave us several suggestions for checking and in 15 minutes we isolated the problem to the solenoid on the side of the HWH pump motor. We then jumped across the terminals of the solenoid and the slide works great. We will replace the solenoid but wanted to thank Dave.
Also, wanted to let everyone know that Dave, a former CC technician was very knowledgable and very helpful. He apparently monitors this board as he responded within a very short period of time after our original message about the problem.
Thank you Dave Rousey Jr.

Can anyone lend me some input on this? I have never had any problems with leaking anywhere in my coach even in very severe rains and storms. Just a few days ago, in lighter rain, I saw some water drips on my dashboard, in the very middle and right up against the windshield. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be and if I need to take the coach in to be looked at??? Someone at my campground here mentioned air conditioning condensation -- is this a possibility?? any ideas would be grately appreciated ---- thanks so much

Hello,
Depending on your location moisture would indicate high humidity, but it could be the clearance lights, the windshield gasket, the thing is it could be couple things. I use a device that pressurized the coach then I take a bottle with soapy water and spray the areas I suspect if it bubbles I found the leak. The trick is to make sure you don't over pressurize the coach by using a meter that reads water columns. Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Dave
