Hi All ~

Trusting everyone is having a fun, enjoyable and memory-making summer. Hope to see you all "up the road".
Meanwhile I need to find a cat engine service facility in the Anaheim area that will do my oil, filter and coolant change. Now that Cat doesn't market to us RVers, I haven't found one that even knows how to spell RV!. Most seem to be truck and back-hoe shops.
Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.
Love this forum!

That has not been my experience. They have always been very helpful and professional. In fact, I called a Cat dealer in Wenatchee WA for some infor on my Cat C-12 and he told me to come see him with my engine serial number and he would tell me everything I wanted to know about that particular engine. And, in fact he did. One interesting bit of data showed engine power (BHP), fuel rate consumption (GPH) and engine torque at engine RPM from 2100 to 1200.

I agree with Jim E, and have used CAT Service Centers in a number of locations across the US and have been treated well every time. If you join the CAT RV Club ($15) you will get 10% off on all CAT Parts as well - membership pays for itself!

Jim,

Maybe my experience with Cat is the exception and not the rule but I wouldn't go there. I took my coach in for a estimate for fixing a exhaust leak that was causing low boost over two months ago and still haven't got it back. They took it apart without a work order and now the are wanting almost $7700 for putting it back together. They also crashed my coach putting it in the bay and ripped the steps of and busted the fiberglass doing several thousand dollars damage. For The work they did they are trying to charge me twice what the national labor guide has listed and that is after a 60% allowance for interferance on a MH and 20% for diagnostics. I believe they are trying to make me pay for their accident by overcharging my for the labor they have preformed.
I'm for sure your right that they can't spell RV.

Jim:

Please advise name and location of the Cat Dealer, so I don't go there.

If you are headed south, Rincon is extremely well versed and does all the RV engine work for many RV dealers in the area. They are located in San Clemente though. I have not personally used them yet (we're still in the process of choosing and RV), but have spoken to them about coaches we're considering and had numerous people recommend them.
