Title: PowerTech Genst Overheating.

I live in La Quinta, near Palm Springs, California. It was between 110-115 yesterday and I left the genset and A/C running while we loaded the coach.

After about three hours, I came out and there was coolant in the gutter and the genset was stopped. I cooled it off, added coolant and attempted to restart it. It cranked over twice, I stopped and came back later, now it will not even crank over.
Any similar problems? Waht happened? Has anyone come up with a way to get better cooling to the genset engine?

Chuck, I had a 2000 Intrigue and also had frequent overheating of the Power Tech genset. I found that it occurred when the coach was sitting at a low levell, and when I raised it the problem subsisted.

Hi Folks,

Had the same problem two weeks ago in Primm, NV, 112 deg F, with both A/Cs running and the uwave just started when the generator stopped with approx 2 qts of coolant on the pavement. I waited 2 hours, filled the reservoir and restarted OK and ran on one A/C. It appears that the outlet air can recycle back if the coach is too low plus the muffler may contribute. I will be working this issue and maybe something as simple as opening the side door may help but getting the outlet air away from the generator is probably the way to go. There is the flap at the outlet air opening which might be enlarged and/or angled backwards slightly. I plan to attach some airflow streamers to see where the air is going.
