Hi All! We are heading to Tucson, AZ and need transmission work. The problem is a shudder when applying brakes. Possible slipping of the bands (?). We would appreciate any input/help. Thanks in advance.

We've used W W Williams in Tucson several times, once for a tranny check, everything OK, didn't charge us, several times for service, once for transmission service, they treated us right, happy with the service and cost. Used them in Vegas and Phoenix also, no complaints. One note, do not stop your motor home in the street in front of WW willaims and disconnect, you WILL get a citation. We've seen trucks and Motor Home stop in the street, there is a MC Cop that hangs out there and nabs ya, we've escaped that honor.

Thanks Mike and Joe. That was the shop I looked up last night. We are now in Las Cruces at Border International. They work on CAT, Allison and Cummings. They just drove it in to see what the problem may be. Hope it is minor and/or is covered by our extended warranty. Thanks again, Marianne >

You may want to come down to El Paso and drive out to Stewart Stevenson on horizon Blvd. They are the Authorized Allison transmission & Detroit Diesel dealer repair center in this area. Its about 65 miles east of you on I-10.

I had the a shudder when I applied the brakes on a new 2007 Tribute. After numberous shops we discovered that the adjusters for the alignment of the rear axle were not torqued at the factory and the shudder was entire axel assembly was moving. Aligned the rear end and torqued the bolts for the adjustment which solved our problem.
