Last week I moved my Intrigue and saw a large wet area under where the engine had been. I investigated and found the "Dreaded Lift Pump Leak". I was able to tighten the three bolts on the lift pump and it appears to have stopped the leakage for now. In anticipation of this failure I had purchased a gasket Cummins P/N 4928511 about a year ago. After reading the Cummins literature on this failure and they call out 2 gaskets, one for early engines and another for later engines. Not being sure if I had purchased the correct gasket I decided to have both on hand. I called the local Cummins dealer to see if they had gasket P/N 4928512 (the one for later engines) available. The parts guy had a little problem finding this gasket and told me there were only 3 in the world and they were in the Charlotte NC warehouse and that after they were depleted you would have to buy a complete new lift pump. The gasket costs $5.20 and new lift pump costs about $180.00 plus installation. I have one of the 3 gaskets coming to me, if anyone thinks they might need one you had better get it now or spend big bucks in the future.

Hi Friend, A few years ago I replaced the whole pump assembly not belonging to the CC Yahoo group at the time. I replaced the assem. due to the metel pump impeller and plate scratched badly. Keep us posted on you findings. Ken 99 Allure!
