Title: Turbo boost loss update

Back ground: the boost would go to 22psi when starting up long hill, then drop down to 12 psi and then up to 14psi where it would remain for the duration of the climb. One suggestion with an explanation was to change the fuel filter. While doing that I got carried away---changed filters and Transynd fluid in trans, then ES Compleat OAT coolant along with a new thermonstat, which turned out to be a bear to replace. Took the coach out today with 2 good hills. The boost went to 23psi , dropped to 21psi on both hills and maintained that reading in both. Was good to have power again. By the way, I am in Loveland, Colorado at 5,000 feet.

Tried to post this update a couple of weeks ago, but it went to spam on my computer. Here goes again--of the many responses, Mikee suggested changing the fuel filters wirh an explanation of why. Even though the filters were only 7 months old, went ahead and changed them. BINGO--, have put 600 miles driving in Colorado and Wyoming in altitudes of 5,000 to 8,100 feet with the boost holding at 21 to 22 psi on steep inclines. Boy, is it good to have power again! Thanks again to all that suggested possible causes things to look at.

Friends having worked for Cat in my other life I posted a while back havivg to cut open your old fuel filters for inspection. This is common practice for us Old Pros! On our Cummins 330 The Fuel filters both were cut apart and I was shocked to find out the the element in both filters was half of the metal can only! Cat filters have full elements! I always keep spare filters on board. Thanks for sharing! Ken 99 Allure 30356 in Yuma.
