I am new to this board and have been reading past posts with much interest. I think I am in overload with information.
I am considering the purchase of a 04 Intrigue Suite Escape 40 foot with a tag axle.
How do they measure the wheelbase with a tag? I saw somewhere on this board that the wheelbase was 248". Is this from the front axle to the tag axle or from the front axle to the drive axle? This coach has about 65000 miles on it so would it be a fair assumption that any PTO issues have been resolved? Thank you

On a tag axle coach the wheelbase is measured from the center of the front wheel to the center line midway between the drive and tag axle.

Norm, IMHO it would not be a wise assumption that the wet kit has been added to the PTO. Yes, failures often happen between 30,000-40,000 miles but that is not a guarantee. Your's could be on the verge.
Can you contact the prior owner? Failing that I'd suggest the PTO be checked by a qualified shop as a condition of sale.
