Greetings ,

A friend of mine with a 95 CC Prevost, who is away from his computer has ask me to relay a Battery Charging problem with the on board alternator, He would like to know what unit usually fails when the batteries fail to recieve a charge, The dash indicator normally reads 14.0 and now reads 11.9 v. He seems to remember a rally seminar where a Constant Duty Solenoid was the subject, So I am looking for help from you CC Prevost Owners, any Ideas I could pass along would be greatly appreciated.

One possibility is a diode failure in the alternator. That happened to me one time.

Jerry,

It could be either the alternator or regulator. The house charging is a 50DN 270 or 300 amp oil cooled alternator. The regulator is probably in the same bay with the batteries and inverters. Have your friend contact me off line and I'll see if I can help him out. If I can't, I can hook him up with folks who can.
