About a week and a half ago , while on a cross country trip to our Daughter's wedding in San Diego, just as we pulled of the freeway, the low air pressure alarm came on. We pulled into the LazyDays Campground ( Formerly Beaudry ) and had enough air to get to a site , as it was about 5PM. At 7:15 , just before opening, at the Service Department, and a lady Service Advisor ( while having a 10 minute personal phone call )informed ( it was Friday AM ) me that she couldn't get me in till next week. I told her of the wedding predicament , to no avail. I called Chris Snyder, who does great work, although not mechanical stuff , who gave me the Service Manager's name , and I went back to see him. Again he said they were fully booked and that he would try to get a tech over to look at the coach as soon as he could. I then called Eric Olstrom of Premier Motor Coach Services at 7:50 AM and got a phone message ., so I hung up as I was going to try Cummins next. About 5 minutes later , I got return call from Eric, who saw that he had missed a call, wondering if he could help. He said , that he was just about at his shop and would come to our site with a Tech. They got there about 15 minutes later, and after I described what had happened, the Tech crawled under the coach while it was running , and said he found the problem. The main air line from the compressor, was too long , and had broken loose and the braided stainless steel hose, had dropped onto the driveshaft, and worn a hole through the line. In less than 2 hours from the first call to Eric , they had found the problem , removed the hose , went to a hydraulic shop, got a replacement, and had it re-installed. How do you beat that for service ? The LazyDays tech showed up at the 1 1/2 hour point, and I said we were looked after. At that point, we drove to their shop to leak test etc. They also found the battery terminal to starter was loose. The coach had always been a bit slow turning over. I had noted this at the factory at delivery, and they said it was the large engine displacement ( ISX 14.9 L ). I had also been having start battery problems , and had been at another reputable shop the year before, had the alternator checked and they said it was a bad battery. It now charges and starts properly. Going down the road I get 13.6 to 13.8 volts , whereas I rarely saw more than 13 V before , because of the poor connection. Got generator serviced and Silverleaf updated, at the same time. The bill was reasonable, and I got a lot done ( no tow--etc ) and am extraordinarily pleased with service at Premier Motor Coach Services, and would HIGHLY recommend them when in the Tucson area. Occasionally luck runs your way . The night before we were in Roswell NM, and if this had happened there , I am not sure of the outcome, but I am sure it would have been crazy expensive. Big Kudos to Eric and his knowledgeable staff. ( and not much good to say about the LazyDays Service Department ) PS The LazyDays Campground staff were great and the restaurant food was excellent , and I would recommend you use the Campground. Neville Proud is the Manager and he is also excellent and cares about what they are doing

That's great to hear Ron. I've had a similar positive service experience with Eric's shop. Eric is the best troubleshooter I've met.
You did not mention a discount. Eric gives Country Coach International members a 10% discount.

Ron, did you take the chance talking to Eric about your problem with your not turning driver seat? Eric worked on my coach in winter 2010 and he did also a great job.

Ron Great New's! Having worked in Tampa at Ringpower a Cat dealer back in 08 we got a lots of Lazy Days RV's with Cat warranty Issues at the truck shop next to our power system shop. Having back in 2000 bought a new Fiver from Lazy Day's I was very upset with warranty Issues on our Carrage! I blew my Top several times at the service Mgr. on Lowsey planning missing a day of work so they could just see the S/N on out fithwheel for king ping box update! Wont go there anymore! You got jerked around like me! Glad there are still good service people out there like I use to be! Thanks for sharing! Ken in Yuma AZ. 99 Allure 30356

Ron:

A very interesting story. But I have a question.
We just came from the Lazy Days campground about three weeks ago and it was signed there and emphasized that there were to be NO outside service techs in the campground.
With all the "Fort Knox-type" security to get and out of the place, how did Eric & tech get in?

Roger great question. I didn't answer that originally , as I , already had a , too long story. On my walking back from the LazyDays service department, a RV park maintenance person, gave me a ride and confirmed they have the rule of no other service techs, and that they enforce it. When Eric Olstrom called me back, I mentioned that fact to him. He said that when LazyDays started up , Premier Coach had a meeting with them. LazyDays , in fact , sends them service work that they , either can't do or don't have time for . In any case, Eric , came in twice, once to inspect , and the second time to do the work, and we had no problem with LazyDays. Quite frankly, that rule would be hard to enforce, but at some point , they may try harder. If they can't get you in for several days, I don't think they can hold you , at ransom. Lawsuits , would be flying. I would , however talk to Eric first. Good Question !
