I have neglected to mention a very serious cause of my shear bolt problem. After having to replace a number of shear bolts and having Fountian RV in Lakeland, FL do a complete replacement of both shear bolts, grears, and alignment of the D/S slide I continued to have shear bolt breakage.
Here is what seems to have resolved the problem. In the compartment that contains the inverter and the tank for the hydraulic fluid for the leveling system. There are four bolt which bolt through the wall between the two compartments that secure the electric motor and shaft in position. One of these bolts was missing and the other three were finger tight. This allowed the mount to move which caused the front end of the slide to be misaligned every time the slide would move.
After replacing the missing bolt, tightening all four and aligning the slide I have not had another shear bolt break. This last repair was done in September. So far so good.

Very easy to check these bolts.

Jack,

I think this may be part of my problem. I am anxious to check.
