Anyone know the cooling system capacity on the cooling system on an '05 Allure withe a Cat c-9?
Have an issue with a possible water pump leak and don't know how much ES Compleat to buy in order to attempt a 40 mile run to a Cat dealer in Ft. Myers Fl. from Naples some 40 miles away. (Don't know how much it needs or how fast it's leaking until I add.) By the way Fleetguard ES Compleat is VERY hard to find in southern Florida, Carry some!
The engine warning light came on and shut the engine down while idling although it started right up again. Drove 500 ft to a campsite and shut it down and then discovered coolant on rear crossmember and elsewhere.
I originally thought it was a fuel issue but found it to be a coolant problem, possibly a failed water pump seal. Would like to try to get to that Cat dealer but do need some info....

Thanks for you efforts.

I just used water to top off the system on my coach when I had the heating circulation pump failure till I got to the Service Center. It was time to replace the coolant anyway. When I lost the radiator two years later, 2010, I found out Cummins was no longer making the blue stuff anymore and went with the new Red stuff. ES Complete OAT, organic acid treatment, It will last longer than I will probably own the coach with one supplement addition. What nice is you don't have to change the charge filter every year anymore, You can buy the coolant in the concentrated form or the premixed version, which is what is recommended by Cummins. TWI

Carl, On my 40' 03 Allure 1st Ave. it takes 14 Gallons including all piping up to the Dash Unit.

Have you tried a Cummings shop? That is where I get mine.

I got my ES Compleat here:

http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/key/V52%20CC2835/pn/Antifreeze-Coolant-Es-Pg-50-50-Pre-Mix-Gallon/erm/productDetail.do (http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/key/V52%20CC2835/pn/Antifreeze-Coolant-Es-Pg-50-50-Pre-Mix-Gallon/erm/productDetail.do)
It's cheaper than Cummins and delivered to Florida in two days from Atlanta.
Note, this link takes you to the Propolyne Glycol type which is what was in my coach from the factory. They have the Etholyne Glycol too.

Carl

The 50-50 mix is fine for topping off but it means you are carrying a lot of water. I prefer the concentrated because you can always pick up distilled water or use tap water in an emergency.
It also gives you the flexibility to increase the concentration if you test low.
