Can someone give me the name and phone number of the Aqua-hot service man who posted a message recently that he would be th the Souther Cal area for service.
I read his post and thought I saved it but guess I didn't. We are in Palm Springs til Monday and the will be in Desert Hot Springs for two weeks.

My problem is that the gas lighter fails to ignite.

Thanks,

Not sure who that was... But, I'd change the nozzle & fuel filter, check electrode's alignment & clean them up, pull the combustion tube making sure it's not warped or burnt, put it back together and see what that does.. If it still doesn't fire, well then gota start thru the flow chart. What I do in this instance is unhook the wires to the coil (the small ones under it, remove the 4 screws holding the coil to the body and pull the wires out from inside the case and unplug the bullet connectors). Now with the unit out and looking at the nozzle, turn it on, it wont spark since the wires are off, but it will go thru all the other motions and when it try's to fire (without spark) it should spray a nice pattern of fuel out the nozzle. That shows me the fuel pump is working (don't know pressure, but it's working, I use a gauge that replaces the nozzle to check pressure), the fuel solenoid is working since it opened and fuel came out, and the nozzle isn't plugged. Now I'll check spark, with the two wires that I unhooked for the coil, hook them up to 12vdc (or 24vdc if it's 24v) power & ground (they are polarity sensitive, so hook them up one way - if nothing reverse them and it should start sparking), if no spark then it's the coil, if it sparks, well then it should light. Put it back together and try, if it doesn't fire now - well it's time to check fuel pressure and adjust as necessary. If it still doesn't fire, check the return line for a restriction - pull the return line off at the unit and turn it on, as soon as the motor starts to spin it's turning the fuel pump, when no fuel is going out the nozzle, it's all returning, so it should be a constant stream with no bubbles....
These things can be a pain, I call them a German time piece. Being there made in Germany - - - the Webasto burner, not the aqua hot box.....

I'm a Webasto/Aqua Hot certified repair tech... but located in Sumner Washington... I can answer most of the questions regarding these units, not all but most... and the ones I don't, I do know who can!

I'm always happy to answer any questions....
