Anyone broken two windshields in the same year? Well one last October and another one today so I guess it was two different years. Insurance was great the first time but I am nervous to file another claim so soon. Has anyone built a deflector for a motorhome that works? If so let me know. Bill

FYI.
I had just driven through Barstow on my way home the day before in my Coach when I went to Vegas in my Brand new Yukon XL and hit a wind storm that sand blasted my windshield paint, grill and bumper. The guy that came out to replace the windshield looked at my Coach and said that I should get some 3M clear coat the same that is on the front of the coach and put it on the Coach Windshield all along the bottom where it is Black. He said the temperature there is 4 times hotter than the rest of the windshield and that the film would protect it because a little pebble that wouldn't break the regular portion would cause a pit that would send cracks through the rest of the windshield.

Good Idea, both times my window cracked it started from a very tiny chip in the black area on the lower edge. When I get this one replaced I will get some 3m put on the lower edge. thanks Bill

I'm assuming your windshield is a single piece covering the entire front. Do you know what the replacement cost is on one of those, by chance?

No I don't. The windshield guy guessed at about $1,500. A friend of mine said his was $2,000, but I would turn it in to the insurance and pay the deductible.

Some States have No Deductible for Broken Glass, I had to replace mine 2yrs ago, a 1 pc, just cracked without any chip or anything, sitting in my garage., The Insurance Co.(Allied) paid the full claim and attended to the Install, and did the Install at My Place, took 4 men and 1 lady about 3 hours., but the Glass Co. Shipped 2 that was broken when they arrived. Have Fun. Marvin, 07 Allure 470,31459
