We boondock for weeks to months at a time. The Tecma electric toilet in our recently acquired 2006 Intrigue uses too much water. When I turn down the water level it doesn't flush efficiently, often requiring a second flush which ends up using as much or more water than when the level is higher. The 43 gallon black water tank fills too quickly and our fresh water supply is used up too fast. We have to dump black water in 1/4th the amount of time than when we had a regular foot flushed toilet and a 62 gallon black water tank in our 2000 Allure. I would like to replace the electric toilet with a Thetford Style Plus, but drain "hole"? for the electric toilet is at the rear of the toilet (and smaller than a regular drain hole). I don't know if there is access to place a new drain hole and connect it to the black water tank.
Has anyone replaced an electric toilet? If so, what was involved?

Gene,
I am in the same situation as you are. We have a 2004 38' Intrigue with the Royal Flush toilet. I see no way to replace it with a standard RV toilet because the black tank is located too far from the toilet. The toilet has a horizontal run of several feet of 1.5" line.
I was looking at the Sealand Vacuflush. It is mainly for marine use but I see no reason other than space why it cannot be used in an RV. It claims to only use 1 pint of water per flush.
Another option we are considering is a composting toilet.
I hope there is a good solution for us and others in the same situation.
Our old MH had 1/2 the black tank capacity as our CC and we could go longer between dumping the tank.

Need to replace my propane detector. I've been quoted $215 + $16 shipping for a STA-70-742-R-BR-KIT. Does anyone know of a better price supplier?
Thanks,
Dave
