Cummins ISC 8.3 "engine warning" light came on. The manual says maybe a fluid is low (rather vague)..all fluids are fine, oil and temp and trans are OK, performs normally (no power or RPM reduction as mentioned in the manual). Any ideas? Bad sensor?

The first time that happened on mine it was a pressure sensor on the injection pump. 6 weeks later it was the injection pump itself. They checked the lift pump and it was OK. The programing was update and I gained over a mpg. . When the accumulator section of the 8.9 liter stated leaking, no sensors wee triggered, but my oil pressure dropped as diesel fuel started polluting the engine oil. On our 99 Allure had a RED ENGINE STOP LIGHT flicker and the engine would hick-up!Replaced both fuel filters problem went away. Never had a Yellow engine warning light. Do have a yellow water in fuel light when dash first boots up. Bummer on Injector pump failure. I hear our older Pumps have some sort of a ceramic pump pressue system. Having only worked on Cat engines not Famillar with the Cummins set up. Ken 99 Allure 30356

The stop engine light came on for me last year and it turned out to be the lift pump. Had it replaced and the light has never come on since.

I have a 2001 36 ft Intrigue with a cummins 370 . last time I started it up the red light came on and said stop engine. it stayed on for about 15 seconds and went off. I turned it off and restarted it and it never came back on.
Should I be concerned about it?
Thanks ,
Bill
