I could use some advise... I brought my RV home this weekend to get it un-winterized and charge the batteries. The Webasto heater would not fire.
I never had this issue before the ~5 years we owned the Magma.
It worked fine a few months ago the last time I used it. After hours of investigation, I narrowed it down to the fuel supply. (Got it to run fine when disconnecting the fuel line and let it draft from a bowl). I know the fuel feed/return runs all the way to the fuel tank.
So my question has anyone experienced the same thing... and was it a defective hose or something else?
I was also wondering... the fuel has a long way to make it from the tank to the Webasto system... and appears no way to prime it to fill the hose with fuel. I don't think the tank is pressurized to force fuel to the Webasto... so the only way the Webasto get's fuel is the pump within the Webasto system, right?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, David

What I would do is to be sure the filters are clean, or new filters. Use low air pressure and blow back into the diesel tank. Be sure the cap is removed and have some one listen for noise in the tank and the line is not blocked in the tank. Then use a siphon nozzle like this: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM1723046801P?prdNo=3&blockNo=203&blockType=G203 (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM1723046801P?prdNo=3&blockNo=203&blockType=G203)
to draw the diesel through the line at the fuel filters. Be careful and use in open space away from flames. Gas this would be a no no. Diesel use caution. If both test show the line is good and open for fuel to flow and clean filters etc. try again. Could have a bad fuel pump on the Webasto, or bad fuel lines between. The new wonderful diesel fuel we are allowed to burn is very bad on older fuel lines. Quite possible will have to replace the fuel hoses. Gates Barricade available at NAPA is the replacement hose to use. I have a 97 and fear the day I have to replace my hose.

Thanks Leonard. I have ordered the siphon nozzle. The fiters are clean, so I think your advise is good. Best regards. David

To prime the fuel system on my Hurricane furnace, I applied 12 volts directly to the fuel pump.
