Can anyone tell me how the wind speed sensor works on my Allure Sunset bay. I have seen refernce to speed cups on the roof but I do not seem to have these but I do have the internal switch to select wind speed (High Med Lo) auto closure. So have I "lost" the cups or does it use some other method of assessing speed?

Michael - believe it does use the cups.... but also I found out that whatever speed you set it to be sensitive to, it has to maintain that particular speed for 2 minutes before it activates the awning..... by that time, the awning could be 10 miles away -- I dont even bother with it... jan

On top of your coach is a 2 inch high plastic housing about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Inside this housing is a fan that spins when the wind blows. There is also a small electronic board inside that housing that activates the awning. Most likely that board has gone bad. I have someone coming to my home today to replace mine. I will let you know how that turns out.

Michael,
You have not lost any cups, and it doesn't have a plastic housing on the roof.
The sensor is in the arms of the awning, when the wind blows the arms move and the sensor detects the movement and the motor winds it in.
