We have an issue of too much copper ( over 600 ppm ) in three tests on 8,000 milo runs. Comment with each was probably leeching from oil cooler. We nnow have 43,000 miles.
Cat hot line and dealer ssid to pull the cooler for test. Did that, and the test was a pressure test for leaks! Of course it passed.
Had them install a new cooler with oil and coolant change.
$ 3500 later and no smarter. CAT refused to pay for any of it.
Anyone have this experience?
Thanks,

Sorry to hear about this Chuck. Are you using ELC coolant?
My Oil SOS Test at 41,800 Miles, last July was 67 ppm. The report was good overall. Thanks for the heads-up, I will look closely at the Cu when I'm in for my next change this summer.
