On my 1998 Allure, the parking brake provides information to the HWH systems that the parking brake is set and therefor can safely be operated. ON my last trip the leveling and slide out failed to operate.I called HWH and a tech determinded that a ground was missing. I traced the wires to the brake switch.
The questions I have are as follows. How do I determind whether the switch is bad or is there a bad ground connection ( there is only one connector lug on the switch so ground must be made thru internal construction)
I need help!

Hi Fritz,
Not sure yours is quite the same, but....Had a similar problem on mine. The bendix low pressure air valve (switch) was bad. It didn't work, so it didn't apply a ground to the HWH system, so the coach didn't know when the park brake was on or off. Replaced it, and the 2 others next to it, and all was well. Valves on my 01 Affinity are in the compartmment directly below the driver, on the front bulkhead.

I had an issue with the Air Brake switch for my slide. I took the switch apart and when I reassembled it it worked fine and has been for 2 years. But this is the Bendix part number 278391 if anyone is interested. I know all I have to do is run a jumper wire from my hydraulic pump for the slide to ground to bypass the switch.
