We're in a KOA in North Little Rock and our TRC Surge Guard protector has kicked off about four times in the last two hours. Our neighbors on both sides of us have not had any electrical problems, but I failed to ask them if they had surge protectors or not. I'm guessing that they do not, however, as they would have not been standard items on their coaches. The surge guard is not hot and appears to be normal. The pedestal has not kicked its breaker. Electrical items in the coach are operating normally, but of course the 110 items go off each time the power goes off, since I don't have the inverter on. Any of you electrical gurus have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you have a volt ohm meter, you unplug from the shore power and check the voltage from both hots to neutral and hot to hot. You should get 120 120 240. Then check neutral to ground, should be 0.
You can also check the lights on the surge guard for clues.
What is the temperature like there? If it is hot and people running the AC you may be getting low voltage when the ACs kick on.

Others may know more.

RD:

I fought a similar problem for 1&1/2 years and then discovered that my power cord reel was defective. With power to the coach from the pedestal rotate the power cord reel, if the surge guard cycles on and off, replace the power cord reel. Problem solved.
