My Pioneer dash unit (rear view display/GPS) has bit the dust for the second time. It will not power-up. The inline fuse is ok and there is power to the unit. I am thinking about replacing the unit with something different. I do not use the GPS part, so just a rear view display unit would work fine for me, any thoughts or suggestions? Gary

I have the same problem. Some times it works to shut down the power unit located in the control panel behind the driver and re boot it.. I found that my iPad using the map app. allows me to see exactly where I am and also follow a blue line to destination. That way I don't have to spend any more money, especially on a new very expensive replacement don shaw o5 Magna 42'

Just a thought.... perhaps you can just plug the camera feed line into a small laptop or other display device.

I also have a Pioneer GPS/Radio/XM unit in the dash that every now and then will not come out. I found that by unplugging the power at the controller for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in makes it operate, sort of like rebooting your computer. If that doesn't work you can remove the unit and send it to Pioneer at 1925 E. Dominguez Street Long Beach, CA 90801 Attn: Navigation Repair. You can call them at (800)421-1603. There was a recall on the cable that powers the screen to retract and deploy many years ago. Good luck on that one. By the way I installed a separate screen for my back up camera because I wanted to be able to see what is behind me at all times not just when I put it in reverse. I also put in a thumb switch to turn off the power to both the screen and the GPS units.

I have just sent my Pioneer AVIC-N2 off to Turbo Tunes who will replace the drive motor for the scree and update the maps with the 2010/2011 maps for $130, half the price of Pioneer and quicker service plus the map upgrade that you would not get with Pioneer. His e-mail is Steve Karner smkarner@...>. You can contact him and arrange for your to be fixed very reasonably.
