KINGMAN, Ariz. - Three Lake Havasu City residents were killed in a fiery motor home accident about eight miles north of the northwestern Arizona city Monday.
The Department of Public Safety said the 2006 motor home towing a Jeep blew a right front tire about 12:05 p.m. on Arizona Route 95.
"The fire started on the right front wheel, which is directly adjacent to the main doorway that you come in and out," Desert Hills Fire Chief Matt Espinoza said. "In that case the primary entrance and exit was blocked by fire which basically forced the occupants to the rear of the RV."
Espinoza said the bodies of the occupants were all located in the rear of the motor home.
The victims were identified as John P. Thomas and Susan L. Thomas, both 63, and Joyce Lowry, 73.

How sad to read this! Last Year I had a Inner duel blow out, The prev owner had an old Toyo year 03 while all the other tires were mid 05"s. Funny as I read this Im going to have new tires put on the rig tomorrow Friday here in Yuma. Good Year G-169 a fried has a Beaver with the same tires and the price is 465.00 plus tax Etc. I had two of them put on last year. I have an older Allure and carry Three Fire Ext. Years back I had a Car fire behiend our first coach and lucky for me folks gave me extra fire Ext. and someone called the fire Dept. The fire was put out and car was repaird. Problem back in 1996 I had a failing surge brake system that appyled the front brakes on our 1992 Saturn.I always check my tires before the trip and at rest areas just like I did before the Blow Out. Lucky minor damage and a new Mud Flap in the wheel well. Thanks for sharing Ken 99 Allure 30356.

You realize Good-year only recommends 4 years for the life span for that particular tire. Older Magna's and Affinities that used that tire had a lot of issues with premature tire wear on the edges of the tires. Especially on the drive and tag tires.

Thanks for sharing, I took the Motorhome to Percell Tire in Yuma and I canceld buying tires as it turns out they are two years old! The Mgr. said These tires dont move so I will go to Oregon and buy mostlikly from Les Schwab. My 7 year old Goodyears still look good but their is wear on the outer sides on all six tires. I was a victom of a blow out and Coachnet sent out those G-169 tires. I will buy fresh tires most likly other then Goodyear. Will keep you posted. Ken 99 Allure 30356.
