A friend of mine pulls a 35' fifth wheel and is thinking about this route for the fall trip to AZ. Since I have also wondered about this route I thought I would ask this group what you think about it.

Bob,

The last 2 summers we have gone from Tucson to the pacific northwest and have traveled on 395, their is alot of great spots on the back side of the sierra nevada mountains for camping and fishing, alot less traveled than i-5.

Bob,

This is a very easy and very pretty drive. The north end down to the Columbia is a bit steep and winding. Take is slow and the view is spectacular. There is a great stop south of the CA/OR border in the area called Likely, CA. Full hook up and includes a golf course. Easy to miss.
