I stopped at a Pilot station this afternoon on I-40 in Graham, NC and used the following procedure at the RV pump. The pump instructed me to insert my credit card first, then it requested the "myrewards" (Pilot/Flying J) card (it said to bypass this procedure if you didn't have one). I inserted my "myrewards" card and it gave me $.03 per gallon savings ($2.25 on 75 gallons). It also said it would allow me to charge up to $495.00 on my VISA for that fueling.
In other areas of the country I often find other truck stops with Shell, Hess, and BP, etc, to be cheaper. As long as it is a major brand, is located where the diesel turns over frequently, and large enough so as to not endanger my rig getting in and out, I buy the cheapest fuel. Sometimes I pay cash if the savings per gallon if good enough. Since I have USAA as my bank, I don't pay to get cash from an ATM right in their station. That is one of the times when I have to leave my driver's license inside while I fuel up.
