Why Flying J?
Here are my personal fueling priorities.
First, ease of ingress, egress
Second, high fuel turnover rate
Third, pay at the pump capability
Fourth, on my route of travel
Fifth, price/discounts
Six and last, cleanliness of facility Flying J still meets priority one, two, and four. Three, five and six are variable at best.
Others may have other priorities but these are mine.

I agree!!! My priority is the fuel turnover. No point is saving a few more pennies when you are taking a chance of clogging your fuel filters.

I pretty much agree with Lyle. And, most times, paying at the pump works. I'm not particularly concerned with cleanliness (yes, it is nice but...) because I use my own bathroom and make my own snack/lunch at a roadside rest stop. And, I've not found much cheaper than the $.09/gallon off I get with the FJ/Pilot card, even using gassbuddy.com. Can't imagine spending the amount of time necessary to fill up at the auto/RV pumps...I much prefer the high flow truck pumps and the long window cleaning squeegees and fresh cleaning solution. But, maybe I've just been lucky in my choice of FJ/Pilots, although 7,500 miles last fall with only a couple of screw-ups wasn't bad...
