Just completing the installation of hardwood floors and re-upholstering the couch and front chairs. Floors installed by Ernie Ekberg (Weatherford TX), furniture by a local upholsterer. Ernie posted the chronology of the job on his Yahoo Group. He posted several pictures on this forum. Everything is completed with the exception of installing the front chairs (due Friday). When we're outta here and back on the road, I'll input some additional information and some completed pictures. Coach looks great, very happy with the selection and installation of the hardwood floors!

New Floors and Upholstery, Update
Several months ago, we decided to "spruce up" the old motorhome. Decided on flooring and furniture. Spent about 2 months investigating both. Received estimates from flooring installers, upholsterers, and new furniture. Looked at laminates, vinyls, and hardwood. Found Ernie Ekberg (among others) to discuss flooring options. Prior to telling Ernie we would use him, he was very helpful in disseminating information, facts and opinions. Ultimately we were vacillating between a high grade vinyl plank and an engineered hardwood. After stopping at Ernie's lab", we decided on the hardwood, Amendoim by Tringulo It has a 3 mil wear layer, a Janco hardness of 2000, a medium uv sensitivity and had available accessories (T molding and stair nose). The plank width is 3.25 inches which looks good in a smaller space.
We chose Ernie for the following reasons:
Based on his Yahoo Group pictures, he's installed many floor types with very good craftsmanship.
You can stay in your RV during installation (50A, water, grey line)
You can do some of the work yourself to lower cost.
He installs one floor at a time, your his only customer.
He engineers some as he goes, RV's have some interesting challenges.
You can see the installation as it progresses and make modifications as desired.
The job is done, we're pleased with the outcome. He did an especially good job on the entry with the sliding step. All of the wood fits snug against all vertical surfaces. He used no quarter round.
After removing captain's chairs and the sofa, we decided to have them reupholstered. Had decided to have the sofa reupholstered, no decision prior on the captain's chairs, considering new because of some problems related to redoing captains' chairs. After a long discussion with Upholstery Warehouse in Weatherford, had both the sofa and chairs reupholstered. Glad we did, got good response from the owner's, met their schedule, fixed some minor issues, happy with the price. would go to them again.
I'll post a couple of pictures of the finished product. Next "bigee" is a paint job!!

and look at the pictures under Joe and Judy Adams Country Coach. There are pictures of the entry. We are especially please with the entry, done in the same wood as the floor (including the slider). To see the pictures you'll need to sign up to the group. I can post additional pictures if anyone wants to see them.
