I, too, have installed a Samsung 19.7 in our 2006 Inspire. I did the work myself with the help of friends to do the lifting. After disconnecting the gas, water and electric, the screws were removed that was holding the Norcold in place. After much pushing and prying, we found that the front flanges were glued to the cabinet with RTV sealer. Once we got it all unfastened, we were able to slide it out and lower it to the floor. We then were able to carry it out thru the door. We didn't remove the co-pilot seat, but we should have because we tore the seat and had to remove it and have it repaired.
The only modification that had to be done to the cabinet was that the outlet box for the 120 volt was moved down behind the drawer beneath the cabinet and 7 inches were removed from the header board above the refrigerator. This was done because we didn't want to lose the 2 drawers beneath the platform.
I made a small shelf for the front caster to sit on (see picture). The unit is held in place with a 3/8" bolt thru the floor of the cabinet and the frame of the refrigerator. The rear vent for the Norcold was blocked with styrofoam and aluminum foil tape, the top vent was left opoen. The microwave and the refrigerator were switched in the fuse box to run the refrigerator on the invertor.
This refrigerator runs fine on a modified sine wave and no batteries were added.

In case anyone is interested I found the Samsungs at the location below. Free shipping and no tax except in NY. Lots of good reviews about the seller.

I'll be ordering one in a week or two.

Gary,

I too have the Inspire and continue to go back and forth between going Amish or Norcold. My concern is how much dry camping do you do? With the Norcold on inverter you are using about 1550 watts (11 x 120 plus 85% inverter eff ) out of 2000 watts on the inverter. So when your ref is actually running you can't have much else running. Do you have (4) 6 volt batteries or (2) 8 D batteries? Wet or AGM? I think it would be close making quiet times at night on some rallies without generator.

Thanks

I have not done much dry camping since it was installed but I did leave it run over 8 hours on the inverter on a warm Florida day and the generator never started. I don't see that as a problem. The label in the fridge reads max. AMPS 3.9. I have the 4-6 volt wet batteries.

Not really up on the power usage but the Amish cooling unit we installed several months ago in our Norcold 1200 has been doing great! After weeks of 100+ temps in AZ and traveling around the country for the last month, it has worked wonderfully!
