Hello,
I am getting new tires on Tuesday and just thought it would be a good idea to change the batteries in the smart tire sensors on the rims. I went to the web site and it says RV systems aren't supported anymore. I downloaded the manual and all it says is lithium ion battery.
Anybody know which battery and if it is something that can be purchased at an electronics store?

I would be interested in the answer here, as I know you can still get the sensors but understood you cannot replace the batteries.

The sensors can not be serviced. The entire sircuit board is encased with an epoxy type resin. Years ago I had one that was bad and replaced it. I used a Dremel tool to see if I could get the case apart to get to the battery. You can get it apart, but it will be in a condition that it will not be usable again.
The sersors were never intended to have the batteries replaced. When I talked to a rep years ago, he said they were designed to be replaced new. Typically at 7 years, enough to ensure the max life of the tire.
Try a Camping World near you as well. They used to sell & install the SmarTire system and some of the stores retained some of the systems and replacement components. I found a complete set with receivers at a store here in Florida discounted in their inventory. They may also have the bench unit for programming the receiver to the new high pressure sensors. Before I install my next set of new tires, I will take my receiver there and the sensors programmed to it for position and then have the tire store install them. May be worth a few phone calls.

Within the past 2 weeks I called Paul and also asked him about replacing the "Battery" in the sensor.
His response was "NOPE". You have to purchase new ones and they are in the neighborhood of
$80 apiece. So, I tried to get in touch with "SilverLeaf" via an email asking them if there unit would only work with "Smart Tire" or can it work with other types. I have not heard back from them yet, so I guess it will take a phone call.
