Barb, when I pulled the hide-a-bed from my 2007 Inspire, I found the seat belts for that sofa anchored through the floor with .50" bolts. The floor panel is plywood something just over 1" thick. There are washers about 2" in diameter on the bottom of the floorpanel. While I doubt that it would be possible to pull those bolts through the floor, particularily with the weight of a child, your son is correct that the seat belts are not anchored to the steel frame.

> Barb, I have a 2006 Allure and have also removed my sofa. I found the bolts and washers also, but when I opened my side and looked at the nuts on the bolts from the outside I found that they went through a heavy angle iron bar that made up the frame for the side. There is no way that a seat belt can pull out in my coach.
I suggest you look for yourself, starting outside under the side to find out how your belts are anchored.
