Friends, helping a friend with a 2000 Magna - Cat "C-10", who is looking at purchasing the Scan Guage D Monitor. It connects to protocol ports J1939 or J1708. This device is about $150.00, much less than a SilverLeaf would be.

The problem is he cannot find these Port Connections under the dash, they are only at the rear service bay of coach. Running the proper cable wouldn't be easy.
Do any of you who have a 2000 Magna, Affinity or other model have the Ports under the DASH?? Yes or No.
My 03 Allure does have them under the Dash, did CC not put them under dash at all back in 2000??
Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Mike,
Yes, and there is alway a terminator on each end of a J1939 cable. My silverleaf operates on the J1708 cable though. I would think it is safe to say anyone with a silverleaf has at least a J1708 cable running to the front. ooppp's I'm waisting Bandwith again. ( another thread ) Kevin Burns

Good luck in finding the connector. I connected my Silverleaf JIB to the transmission connector on my 2000 magna. I had to do that on myu previous MH but I found the cable a previous owner had used and it was connected to the transmission connector saving me the problem of patching into that connector. I looked for awhile but couldn't find the standard connector. pete

Kevin, I didn't state my question clearly enough, my friend's Magna does not have a SilverLeaf that is why he's looking at the ScanGuage "D" Monitor. I'm having him take off the KickPlate behind the pedals and as well the Cabinet cover from the Shifter Panel to search for the J1039 and/or J1708.

Mike,
I understood that I, like now, was/am in a hurry. If he has the electrical dwgs to the coach it will show where the drops are. I have a J1939 and J1708 drop in the bay beneath the driver seat.

What a coincidence. I'm having the same issue. Been speaking with Kevin Waite about the Silverleaf software. I can't find the plugs either.

If you friend has an Android Cell Phone or Tablet, you can buy the TorquePro apk from the Google Play Store for $5 and a bluetooth scanner via Amazon or other sources on the internet for about $15 to $30 and have an effective OBD2 scanner.
I have done so using my Vizio tablet and it has worked on 3 gasoline autos, including turning off the Check Engine Light after making the diagnosed correction.
I understand it is the same protocal as used on electronic diesel engines. Unfortunately my coach has a mechanical engine.

If you are talking about VMSpc. Do a search on it and you will get much discussion as to location of the connectors. There is a chain of them I had responded to in 2006 at 23106. I use VMSpc in my coach and have it tapped into the rectangular connector behind the kick plate just to left of the steering wheel column. It has worked great for over 10 years now.

I found mine behind the kickplate to the right of the gas pedel.
